I’ve been at my folks house the last few days to prepare the house for sale. I discovered a lot of droppings in the backyard and either need confirmation these are deer droppings or if not, someone to tell me what they are. As you can see there’s a good deal if it.

I felt a little weird about posting this to LJs, but then again it’s LJs and who would know better than a lumber jock? :)

Nope, that’s definitely Bigfoot scat.

Siberian tiger. Be careful out there and don’t let any prospective buyers know your little secret.

LOL OK thanks for the confirmation Jerry and Ripper. Last reported there’s over 1200 deer on Staten Island and it’s probably closer to 1800 now. Staten island is very much an island and also part of NYC, but there’s lots of deer there now and plenty of wild turkeys.

As you can see in the 3rd pic, a section of the fence is down (actually two 8’ sections are down). That’s their access as the rest of the yard is surrounded by the 6’ fence backed by 25’ arborvitae. Guess I’ll need to put up another few posts and replace those two sections of fence.

Looks like deer droppings. Some bear scat can resemble it, but it’s more likely deer.

Funny you mentioned that. There was one in the yard yesterday. My ex was helping and she brought her dog. But that little dog leaves much bigger piles :O
