I finally purchased a Byrd Cutterhead for my GO490 jointer..
The install process was pretty straightforward.. A gear puller is a must, and a little patience..
The new cutterhead is amazingly quiet, and provides little to no resistance when pushing stock over the cutterhead..If you are debating on upgrading, I highly recommend it !!

You should do a review with photos on this. It’ll get more visibility there. I have a Byrd for my Jointer as well, but haven’t installed it yet. Wanted to wear out my existing blades first as they are doing a nice job at the moment.

Have your say...
