I’ve been using a card table for the last year and a half for my podcasting station and although it has worked, it has been less than ideal. Since I have ZERO skills in the woodworking department, my friend who is pretty handy in the wood shop let me convince him into making a custom built desk/station for me.

We decided to film him building it and here it is: How to build a custom podcast desk

So far, I’m super happy with it. My biggest need, besides just a space to work was cable management. So we have 5, 2 inch holes drilled at various locations throughout the desk and finished with plastic grommets to manage the cables. I’m still working on managing the cables under the desk, but I no longer have a rats nest on top of the work station.

Now I can have 4 people easily sit around the station and conduct the podcast.

The total cost for the project was under $200
