Thanks alot!

“accu fence” is the moniker for a Powermatic saw fence. Unfortunately the last really decent owners of Powermatic was WMH, and the group who has them now is more about tools they make, and bring over from China, then helping old owners get right. This does not mean all is lost, but you would need to get any needed parts from secondary sources. The best places to look for info, parts, buyers, and sellers will be.

Old Woodworking Machines

and

Vintage Machinery

Other choices are to upgrade to a newer fence, something in a Beis like configuration is thought to be best, but I disagree as I often do, and much prefer a round bar Vega Fences

Michael, another thought if you find the accu fence too difficult to work with, and decide to upgrade is to make a post asking to buy an upgraded table saw fence, and make sure you say, complete with rails. Locally there could be several guys like me who have a fence or 3 sitting around, they may want to convert to a few bux. Shipping them is way beyond what I want to get into, though some may. Most will go for local sales only, and as the Man said, if you don’t ask, you’ll never know.

That TS is gonna need a lot of love and kindness, tell the truth the fence looks to be the best part, and was certain to be a huge upgrade to a Craftsman contractor saw, looks like a .113. For the saw there are many sources of handbooks/owners manuals, you just need the correct model number.

Good Luck.

Thanks Steve.

I haven’t purchased this saw yet. I have a craftsman 113.29991 (craftsman “100”) that I use and am looking for a fence upgrade that is under $100.
I don’t have any intent on using the saw. I’ll probably save the motor, blade etc and scrap the rest

Here’s one for a bit more than $100 bucks but it’s worth making an offer. A good option, I think, for your saw.

Haha ironically I’m selling a saw I just fixed up with that very fence for $250.

I think I’m just going to bite the bullet and buy a Delta T2 fence. :)

I have a Delta 36-978 with a T2 on it, it is a very serviceable fence, no bells and whistles, but a very good fence. Older ones are well made, and hold tolerance well. Since all of the big companies have gone Chinese, I’m not certain if that is still true? I wish you were close, I’d make you a good offer on a Vega standard, lots of bells and whistles, American made, quality product.

Any way I can talk you into shipping? Fences never come on the market here. The one one on the market here is a delta fence for $225.

I’m still pretty novice and just starting to put a shop together, so I’m not sure what constitutes a good deal :P

Problem is you would love the price I could offer it to you for, but adding 100+ to the cost to ship it would be a deal breaker, and it would be every cent of that. No USPS prepaid box gonna hold one of these. They are in boxes 8’ long, and I would guess rails and all take it over 80 pounds.

Hey Steve-

Sorry to bug you again. I put out a Craigslist ad to buy a fence, and got two responses. The first was for an Align-A-Rip fence for $80. I also got a response for a Powermatic fence. The owner said it was made by Vega. I attached an image of it below.

Which do you think is the better fence?

Thanks!!
