Hey there, folks. First time posting here. Found this on the side of the road after stopping to help a big ol’ furry animal fix one of the straps on his backpack. Was hoping someone might be able to tell me what it is. Iron has a convex edge to it. Seems you can push or pull it. Don’t really know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Box Scraper. Like the Stanley #70, if it’s not a Stanley.

that’s one of them there Roy Underhill tools.
put it on your goody shelf and admire it until you have a use for it.

check this out – if you can find the brand name, maker’s mark, or something, it might be valuable.

Yep, it’s a box scraper. Back when many products were packaged in wooden boxes (open with pin tailed joints), the boxes had “labels” stenciled onto the wood. Scrape off the stencil, and you got yourself a good, usable, unmarked wooden box. Collectors of advertising crates and boxes would cringe in horror nowadays, but this was long ago before we became a “throw away” society. Cool find and my favorite price…... FREE !!!
