A method we use for enclosing bonnet top pieces .. Works well

No they used veneer and nailed it down the sides, as was very typical, but having seen many of them , they almost were always cracked and split .
We started doing this many years ago and have had no issues , The Bombe we show at the end of the video is actually a student build, he comes for 2 weeks a year, the bonnet was done last year at this very time .

Thanks for the vid. Great as always sir. I know I had to suspend my subscription a while back due to competing $$ requirements namely tuition checks to Va Tech, but I’m going to go back and renew. Really miss the show!
