I am looking at purchasing a branding iron for my projects. I have looked all over ETSY and FB and was leaning toward Wolverine Custom Woodcrafts but looking at their photos it seems like there is always excess burn area around the brands. The folks on ETSY have some good looking products as well but I am hesitant to order from across the world for more than it costs to get it made almost locally.

Do any of you use wood brands to mark your work? If so, who did you go through to have it made?

Please post a pic of one of your brands as I am interested in the final product.

Thanks for the help guys,

My avatar is my brand. I have the standard, not electric. I bought it from the guy that makes them, at a ww’ing show several years ago.

Hi Roger, Take a look at the Lee Valley site, and search for “branding irons”. They have a selection of styles in both electric and non-electric styles.
I’ve had a non-electric for years now, works great, but you do need a torch to heat it up.

You can get a good customized branding iron from many online sites like brandfirst or amazon at great discount prices. But, if you don’t want to wait for your order to arrive then you can even check near your local area for a good branding iron.
