I had the complete set of Woodwright’s Shop books by Roy Underhill which I had acquired over the years. Thanks to my “Toss-Aholic” wife, I lost these books when me moved into our present home a few years ago. (Yes, there was consequential “discussion” about HER throwing away MY stuff, and a threat to throw about 30 purses in the dumpster, but I digress…...Many of you have been there, done that, anyway…....) So, I have had to begin replacing the lost books. But I realized that some books in the series were more important to me than others. (Let’s just say that I, personally, had a deeper interest in some projects in them than others.) OK. My aging memory ain’t what it usta be. That’s why God invented pens and paper, right…...? I hit upon the idea to write down a list of the books in the series, then look them up on the internet by title. Thankfully, the University Of North Carolina Press has a link to each book which allows you to look inside. I was able to check the Table Of Contents for each book and decide which were the most important for me to replace. Thought I’d pass this tip along to the good folks here at LJ.
