Topic tags/keywords: humor resource question google 1 2 3 blocks reviews

Hey All:

This is a Comment I left in ”Review” on 1 2 3 Blocks. It’s Light Hearted, which isn’t a Bad Thing. ;-}

It’s the Last Part ”CHECK THIS OUT”... that is more applicable to here. (If at all..LOL..) Talk about ”Monitoring” your Discussions!!

Oh My God!! I just remembered!! I just sent a, shall we say, rather Intimate Personal e-mail Reply to a Lady Friend while I was still logged into LJ’s. NAH! Couldn’t Happen!! Could it?? Well?...if you see it. It’s NOT REALLY MINE!!!

Review Comment Starts Here:

Amazon goes to a lot of trouble sometimes to Conceal their Suppliers other than “Brand Names”.

I just spent a Long Time looking for “All Industrial Tool Supply”. The closest I could come was an Exporting Business in China. NOT saying that’s where they REALLY DO come from.

So…I got Tired and searched the 1 2 3 Blocks thing. Lot’s of them.

Then Our Old Friend Popped up as mentioned by Eric. Lee Valley Tools, but I got there by the Back Door ..LOL….Veritas Tools which is the Design/Manufacturing Arm of Lee Valley. I did a Post on Veritas couple of weeks ago??

Anyway, for what it’s worth a set is $37.50 from Lee Valley, Item # 05N58.01 in case this Link doesn’t work.

Happy Trails All: Rick

EDIT: This is the link to my Post on Veritas Tool if you’d care to have a look see.

CHECK THIS OUT!! So I finish doing this Post, go back to read my Mail. Below, on my Mail Page is a GOOGLE ad with the words “Industrial Tool Supply” as one of the three Ads shown.

So I HAD to click on that one. Up comes… via ”Global Spec” an Industrial Search Engine ….”Are you looking for a Company with the words “ALL Industrial Tool Supply in it’s Name?” followed by a HUGE list of Companies with that name or as part of it’s name! LIGHTNING FAST OR WHAT!!!

Holy Doodle Bugs! My Cut & Paste dragged the other Post over 3 times!! Along with ALL the Rules & Regulations about Everything!! This Page was at LEAST 2.5 Miles Long!! I had to Cut it all out!!

HEY!! Who Stole my “Signatutre Line”! Oh! Now it’s back. Thank you.

You don’t have to worry until you start seeing a lot of ads for Viagra and “male enhancement” products. :-)

I was shopping online for a wheeled laptop case, the kind with a retractable handle. It was supposed to be a surprise gift for her birthday. Though I only spent a half-hour looking online, I was getting ads all over the place for wheeled laptop cases for the next two weeks. She uses my computer sometimes….you guessed it, BUSTED!
Nothing like spoiling my surprise gift, Sheesh!!!!

TeeHee!! You’ve been snooped. Don’t worry, Google does it to everyone. As soon as I open an email in my gmail account, there’s a sponsored ad above the email which directly relates to the subject line of that email. When I open another email, the ad changes to something it thinks will appeal to me based on that email. I think it’s partly how Google can offer free email and online phone calls. Advertisers pay for the right to have their ads pop up based on the snooped content of your personal emails.

There’s no such thing as privacy anymore. Call me paranoid, but even what you say to someone face-to-face is probably being monitored…so watch what you say in your emails to the Lady Friend…LOL.

Actually they are several “consumer tracking” companies that rent their services to e-commerce sites like amazone, walmart, HD, Lowes etc…

All they do is gather data on where you shop and what you look at.

Once this data is collected, those sites can do targeted ads for you.

Don’t eat too many cookies.

You definitely need to clean out cookies from your browser from time to time to try and beat Google at it’s hobby. Not sure where it all stands now but here are a few links from the past on lawsuits on the other issue.

You’re right about that! Unfortunately MS or IE doesn’t touch 10% of them. I have a “Window Washer” that I use about every second night. 100’s of Cookies, Temp Files, Temp Internet Files, .dat Files, and History Files that “Disc Cleanup” “THINKS” don’t exist.

Of course the fact that 98% of Googles Revenue comes from Advertising might have something to do with it. i.e. Not so strange “Bed Fellows”.

As I have only one Computer I also got rid of my WIFI connection from my Modem/Router. If I had more than one, I’d still Ditch it and run a few lengths of cable back and forth.

I ran the washer last night but I just did it now for fun.

Temp Files 24 at 280KB….. Index.dat Files 28 at 11,690KB …. IE Cache 130 at 10,828KB …..Cookies 48. People wonder why there Computer gets all Jammed up and Unresponsive.
