Topic tags/keywords: top three too many top dozen

I follow the twitter feed which announces new Daily Top 3 projects. Looks like we’re getting about a dozen of them per day, which seems larger than three.

Not really complaining, but it seems a little generous.

Ain’t it great there are so many talented and creative Jocks putting awesome projects?

It’s not really just three per day. It’s three at a time. A project is only in the running for the first 24 hours after it is submitted. During any one day, new ones move in as older ones age out.

Ahh. That makes some sense. So if a guy wants better odds of a top three, he can submit at an appropriate time and have less competition.

Yes, I am saving up all my projects and plan to submit them at 2 AM on December 25.

Hmm. So if I submit all of mine at 1am, then you’ll only have an hour in the limelight? ;-)

Others have said in the past it has to do with a formula consisting of views, comments and favorites. Could be in any combination. Go ahead and try to figure it out and let us know Dave.

Favorites add the most, then comments and finally views. If you’d like to see a project make the Top 3, you can help by commenting and making it one of your favorites…

Dave, during the beer swap, all of us got top 3. I happened to view mine and it eventually moved up to a 1st slot in the Daily top 15. Don’t know what that is about, but yes, new ones move up. The same thing happened with all of us.

Yes, I had to keep looking at my first top 3 … and save a screen shot … couldn’t help it :-))

Monday 10 a.m UK time seems a good bet Dave
I got one with 2 favourites, 4 comments and about 60 views so seems like a easy time and you can get one with any old rubbish :)

I remember that, Duck. And it seemed like more than three a day, which had me wondering. ChuckV’s answer resolves it for me, so I’m good.

I also had noticed that it was a lot easier to get a top three if you submit on a slow day. Twelve of my most recent eighteen projects made the top three, including a few that were “any old rubbish” and none of my first twelve projects did, likely because I hadn’t spent enough time in the swaps to have any buddies to comment on them, and they were even more rubbish than my recent work, as I was just a beginner.

So, “have friends and submit at off times,” seems to be my recipe for getting a Top Three more often than I’m due. Works for me.

So what you’re saying is my top 3 projects are really rubbish and they only get recognized because everyone else is off having a life???

I am snowflake crushed….
