I picked up some live edge pine slabs from a person. They gave me these two different looking boards. Not sure what it is. I’ve never saw grain like this

Here’s another picture of one. I tried searching online and haven’t found anything that resembles it. I’m gonna make them into coffee tables anyways haha but was just wondering if anyone knew what type of wood it is.

If it is common in your location I would say pecan. Some of the pattern may be spalting.

A better photo. I live in upstate ny. I was told maybe hardack . But I’ve never seen them this wide. I was just curious if anyone could help me out. They are for myself so I really don’t care lol I am super excited to get them sanded down and finish put on them. I think they will be breathtaking. I love the spalted look to them.

Could be Hickory. The bark may give a clue.

Any bark left on them? That may help.

Looks great, are those steel legs? Didn’t see it in your projects, would like to see a better pic of the leg detail.

Do you have a bark picture? I have some aged sycamore that resembles that. The bark would be fairly thin and peel in long strips except low on the tree it stops peeling. I live in Illinois.

Chefhdan they are steel I’ll take some better pictures of it when I get back there. They are leafsprings my dad had hanging in the garage. Had to heat them up to get the right curve. The centers are brass bullnose rings I threaded a piece of brass bar to put thru the center. Didn’t want to see nuts and bolts. I think it came out pretty awesome pictures definitely don’t do it justice. As for the other replies there was no bark on the slabs when I got them.
