I guess this is as good a place as any to dive into the site.

I have just begun my woodworking adventure so I decided to start with used equipment to get me going. Thanksgiving week I was able to score a Delta 10” band saw and a Delta 14” drill press for $300 total. Other than usual wear-and-tear the equipment runs good.

The issue I’m having with the band saw is the tracking. Regardless of the size blade I’m using, I have to crank the tracking adjuster all the way in just to get the blade riding near the center line. The slightest loosening of the adjuster knob will move the blade towards the face of the wheel.

Does anyone know of something I can do to get a better tracking adjustment? Or is this issue indicative to the model.

Thanks in advance.

well the hard part is making sure the tires are in decent shape, and guides are set right.
google tuning a band saw, and follow the procedures, i can from experience tell you it worked for me on an old delta i just refurbed, and a very good band saw blade, I suspect the key is a very good brand blade.
Takes time an patience to finally get it tuned just right, once you do, its a piece of art waiting to happen.
good luck with it
