Title pretty much says it all. I have been wanting a bandsaw for sometime now, and havn’t had to money for a good full size one and haven’t found anything decent used after looking for over a year. Not to mention I honestly don’t have to space for one either. I already have more tools than I can fit.

I had pretty much ruled out any benchtop model until I recently came across surprisingly great reviews for the Rikon and that make me start to consider them. It is currently on sale at Woodcraft for $219 and I have one about 15 minutes from me. With that said though, while looking at the Rikon I came across the Wen. I know if it “Chinese crap” brand, but from what few reviews I have seen about it, it sounds pretty decent. Not really much negative I found, but I also haven’t found that much at all. It is $10 more than the Rikon but comes with the stand, a stronger motor, higher resaw capacity, and a miter gauge.

Bottom line is, if you were in my position which would you go with?

I have had the 14inch Rikon 10-325 for several years, so I chose to add the 10-305 Rikon. No regrets at all. Great for smaller projects and curves. It saves my 10-325 for resawing tasks without having to swap out blades.

The best thing about the 10inch BS is that you can easily move it out of the way when needed.

Very happy with my 10-325. Rikon customer service after the sale is well documented as excellent. That may not mean anything now but it could later on. My suggestion also is the Rikon.
