I have a Model 37-380 8” Jointer and the spring that controls the blade guard is broken and unusable. Was a time when Delta would have it in stock, no more. All the parts sources I find online say the part is obsolete and no longer available. It’s a spring. Surely one of you resourceful woodworkers have solved this problem. Any one know of a replacement/compatible spring and source for it? I really want my blade guard to be fully functional.

You can get one for about $9 at Renovo if you want an OEM one… or I’d just run down to my local ACE hardware store and find one similar and bend a tang on it… it’s not really all that critical.
