I put three items in my cart, went to check out and they were sold out. Not cool Lee Valley, not cool.

Hah, they go quick. For me the email came about half an hour after the site was up. Didn’t need anything right now, so I just picked up a gift card to use on their next free shipping event.

The items were there, but the good things like planes sold out in about 5 minutes. I thought about buying the 4 1/2, and in the time it took to think about it, it was gone.

Crazy. I was on the site by 6:30, which is 5:30 EST, and all of the planes were gone except the jointer. Given that these are all seconds with slight blemishes LV doesn’t really control the number available. At least we can still get 15% off any plane by buying a discounted gift card…

Yeah you got to get on there right at Midnight eastern if you want anything. I almost pulled the trigger on the shooting plane but decided against it. It was gone 10 minutes after the sale went online.

I suppose the whole idea of having things go on sale must go against their sales ideology. I don’t think Lie Nielsen does sales either. If something never goes on sale, it must be worth every penny you pay for it, right? I seem to purchase the item anyway, so that sale ideology must be working for them ;-)

I’m talking about how they never put anything on sale, except a few “gadgets” and some manufacturing seconds. I don’t consider these true sales…

That all being said, I’ve never got anything from Lee Valley I’ve been disappointed in.

Yep, was thinking about the L.A. Jack or the Shooter but already have the L.A. #4 so for the few times I use the shooting board it works fine. Everything else on my “wish list” wasn’t on the list?(consumables mostly)
