I am in the process of building a walnut bench with a storage area. I am in need of a high quality piano hinge roughly 36”-40”. I can buy one at Lowes but I am not confident in quality of their hardware. I checked but they don’t sell piano hinges.

Grainger also has a pretty big selection, and you can avoid shipping if you pick it up at a branch.

I don’t see why a piano hinge from Lowes would be of poor quality. Have you seen one of their hinges fail? A piano hinge is pretty simple. What could go wrong? If you must have a piano hinge from somewhere else, check

Here you go Steinway Hinges.

You can also find stainless piano hinges for marine
and restaurant use. I don’t know if they are better
than what’s commonly available or just stainless.

Boat building places sell it, you can get solid brass or stainless that way, link.
