I’m building an adaptation of Mike Pekovich's Hobbit Cupboard, and I’d like to include some acorn finials. I don’t have a lathe, and was wondering if someone could make some for me?

They’d need to be made from cherry, and 3/4”-7/8” diameter. I’m looking to spend around $10 for these… they can’t be that hard to make..? any takers?

Hey Aaron,
I’d make those for you if you can provide photos or a drawing.

thanks for the offer, Ben! So as it happens I just got an old lathe off craigslist last night… it has only a spur drive, so it will be a little challenging to make something like this, but I’m going to give that a shot first :)

Kudos for trying to make them but if all else fails, you may be able to buy some on Etsy and other sites. You might have to tweak them to make them fit your project but it is a backup plan.
