Topic tags/keywords: epoxy resin bar topper silicone caulking wood filler

Hello everyone,
This is my first forum I’ve joined and not too sure on how things work. But I am in need of some help. I am in the process of making a nautical themed wooden spool table and planning to apply a epoxy resin bar topper on it. I originally put spar urethane on it, but that didn’t cover down in the gaps very well and would like better coverage plus a more level surface. I was wondering if I could use clear silicone caulking to fill all the gaps and holes then apply the bar topper. I’m not sure if they will work together properly. I was going to make up some wood filler but that would be a lot more sanding then i want to do. Also I want to be able to see down through everything to look at all the wear and tear of the table.
