Hi all,

I’m looking for some input before I go and make myself a miter workbench. I plan on throwing a miter saw in the center and a RAS on the right side of the bench. Some questions/concerns of mine:

  • Any better way to join my vertical 2×4 posts to my lateral 2×4’s at the top? I was thinking just 3” screw’s would do the trick.
  • I plan on storing wood under this, do you think I can use wood (say doug fir) cross-bars or will I need metal? (Sized at 1.5×1.5”)
  • Should I worry about ensuring the three seperate benches can have a positive connection? My assumption is they will weigh enough that I won’t need to care.

It looks plenty sturdy to me. You’ll need to
level the feet to bring the tables in plane
with your miter saw. In order for the fences
to be accurate I think it would be prudent
to screw it all together.

Have your say...
