I have the opportunity to buy and older. Jet jj6 jointer. It’s in good shape but needs a motor. Anyone know. What the. Motor rpm should be and what size pulley goes on the motor. Shaft. Pics. For. Reference Thanks in advance |

This is a manual for a 6” Jet jointer. It should be pretty much the same as the one you want to buy. The manual says, 4800 RPM for the cutter head. Knowing the motor RPM and the cutter head RPM, you can come up with any combination of pulleys to obtain 4800 RPM, or close to; it doesn’t have to be exact. http://content.jettools.com/assets/manuals/708457K_man_EN.pdf |

What size pulley is on the jointer? Most likely need a 1725 (1800) rpm motor, so figuring out the motor pulley size will be easy. (See here) Cheers, -- Brad in FL - In Dog I trust... everything else is questionable |
