I needed a drum sander to make 3/32 slabs for Shaker boxes. My shop is small and not able to accommodate a big separate unit. I found a pattern in the internet and adapted to my use. The base is a 4” sch 40 plastic pipe, mounted between 2 pillow blocks and driven on the top of my table saw. I removed the saw blade, mounted a pulley, rerouted the electric switch and used left over ply scraps. Total cost was under $75.00. It works well and now I can make my Shaker boxes as well as sanding anything under 12” wide.

Good job – may I suggest that you post it on “projects”....
