What kind of wood species is this?

So someone wants me to make sometime like this, which would be VERY easy. I was just curious what kind of wood log this was to begin with.

At a glance I’d say a fairly young white ash. Just a guess.

Edit: but it might be alder :)

My guess is also Ash it looks like a very young tree.And the piece was rived .So the genus species is Fraxinus.
Looks to be a very expensive yuppie salad.

Kind of looks like vegetarian tree to me. Maybe vegan it hard to tell by that photo.
