The quick question:
Given the smaller size and ripped strips of board glued together, how necessary is it to pin Breadboard ends on a cutting board?
Can a glued spline work just fine?

Granted, I may try pinning a couple just for the practice of it…but I would be interested if pinning on a cutting board versus a glued spline would be overkill?

If it is a straight pin instead of a tapered plug I would lean against it. The board is going to get wet all the time and the pins will likely be the first place where ugly gaps show up.

Maybe experiment first before you do it with any precious wood.
