Topic tags/keywords: traditional question toolchest tool chest box wilkinson

hi folks,

recently I found this lilltle tool chest and could not resist. so i bought it.
Thought i share this with you.

After a gentle clean up.

It came without tools, inside box, key and further information.

It is fairly small (50cm wide, 20cm high and 28cm deep)

The hinges have a stamped patent date on their back side: Oct. 31 1881
I think it is made out of oak, but i am not shure.

Any suggestion on the date? And purpose?
Anyone seem similar chest?

Very very nice. Time to build a tray and fill the box up.

A great tool chest. As Wayne said, fill it up!

I agree, fill it up and make the tray. Looks like it may be made out of chestnut, can’t be certain just by a picture. Have fun, make some dust.!
