I've strayed from the original Cherry bandsaw box, would you finish these any differently?

I had asked for advice on preventing cherry from blotching, I Have “set aside” that project for now. Would you finish the birch plywood and oak any differently, am I best to follow the same steps? Think it’d be ok to just throw a clear satin polyurethane on there Now?

If you want to see what it will look like with a clear finish, wet it down with DNA or mineral spirits. the “wet” look will be very close to what it will look like with a clear finish.

Yea, I guess that’s a question I had too. So this clear satin will give it a shine too?

I’m asking because I noticed the others are marked as “semi gloss”, so I was sort of wondering if the clear satin would do it too, or if it’s only purpose was to protect.

I’m not neccessarily going for a gloss, but with the first coat I put on last night, I notice no difference in appearance, which is fine. But just curious what it’s “supposed” to do.

So far I’ve only done the piece in the bottom pic, I really like the one in the top picture and don’t want to screw it up by way of rookie mistake.
