Topic tags/keywords: steel city jointer craigslist 406550 tool Found this deal on a steel city 406550 8” Jointer on Craigslist. Wasn’t planning on purchasing a jointer but if it’s a good enough deal I might act on it. /tls/6099325675 I know the reviews of steel city is greatly mixed and CS is non existent. What do you think of this unit, it’s asking price and what do you think a reasonable offer would be? |

I thought Steel City went out of business. Can parts be found? |

Steel City is now called Cutech and yes parts are available. That jointer is going to be even heavier than others due to the granite beds. If I could, I would consider buying it at that price IF things all checked out flat and square. Especially if equipped with a helical head cutter. |

Here’s the Steel City website that came up from a Google search. It looks like they started in TN but relocated to Chicago, IL. |

I think that’s a good deal for 500. -- David, Kentucky |

I believe the 8” is only 2 blade quick change knives not the spiral. |
