Hi there,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this post – if not, please let me know.

I have two large trees on my property that need to come down. One is a walnut tree about 30’ tall or so – it is dying and near the city street, so the city wants it to come down. I’m guessing there could be some decent lumber or slabs from it. I also have a 30’ or so ash tree that needs to come down as well. The borers have gotten it – we injected and trimmed it, with hopes of saving it, but no dice. It was at least 50’ tall before we trimmed it. I can post pictures of both trees if that is helpful.

Does anyone know if someone in central Indiana has a portable mill and wants these, or if there is a lumber mill that would come take them and use the wood? Otherwise, I’ll be using a tree service to cut them down and will split the wood for firewood. I already have more wood stored up in my barn than I can use right now and don’t have the room to keep storing more; thus, my hope is that someone could make better use of these trees than just fuel for fire.

If anyone has suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!
