Was just going through this reddit page and laughing at some of the pics and comments.

I think my worst effort was a square plant pot that i’d not bothered measuring up for. Did everything by eye and it looked like a blind man made it.

What was your worst effort?

Great topic. Please note that I edited the title to remove the cussing.

My worst effort ended up warming me up in the fireplace. Sometimes, things go badly…I like a challenge and it can take more than one try.

I would have to go with my first attempt to build a “desk” back in the early ‘80s. I got some red oak for the fronts/top and this weird plywood at the now defunct Payless Cashways store here in Tucson. This plywood had the grain in all layers running the same direction to make it flexible for doing drawer sides.

Anyway, I began the disaster by trying to build the drawers first — obviously a rookie move. I was using lock rabbets to attach the sides to the front. I kept screwing it up, so the drawer kept getting smaller and smaller. Eventually, I gave up.

Oh, and thanks for posting the reddit link. If you replace ‘reddit’ with ‘imgur’ you can go straight to the images and right-arrow through them.
