Hey all, I’m in a bit of a pickle. I was in the final step of a project and I screwed something up. After putting several coats of poly onto the walnut coaster holder I made, I went to wax it with a Johnson paste wax. I’ve used this wax tons of times before with no problems, but this time, everything got really sticky. I buffed out what I could then decided to let it sit to see if the stickiness would go away. It mostly did, but now the finish has white specks stuck in the grain (presumably from the wax, cause they weren’t there before). I’m planning on giving this as a gift on Wednesday so I’m basically out of time. All the resources I’ve found about specks in the finish point to what to do BEFORE the specks get in there but I don’t have the luxury of sanding it off and redoing it at the moment. Does anyone have any tricks for getting rid of those specks? Thanks in advance for the help… |
