Topic tags/keywords: question tablesaw porter cable pcb222ts

I bought it a couple of years ago. It worked fine for a while. Recently it’s started misbehaving.

Raising the blade is difficult. When cranking it up, it’ll go fine for a couple revolutions of the handle, then be difficult to turn the crank. After a few revolutions of the handle, it’ll get easy again. No problem when lowering the blade. It’s probably sawdust restricting the blade or motor. Is this something I can fix myself (I’m not very mechanical)?

The other issue is that the blade won’t remain at the height I set it. This isn’t a problem when ripping lumber, but when I’m trying to cut a groove on several boards the height of cut changes. I’m constantly nudging it back up. The result is a ragged groove requiring a bunch of chisel work.

Try adjusting the wheel lock in the center of the blade height wheel.
