drill press tall pieces

Do you guys have a good technique for drilling tall pieces on the drill press? I tried clamping to my table but it was hard to keep it vertical and then center it and then clamp it down.

V-blocks in a drill press vise. If you have a lathe, that’s the easiest way to drill straight and centered.
