Here are the rules:

Build the most impressive project you can with only a chisel and a mallet. You have to start with a tree, and chop it down with the chisel and the mallet.

Projects will be judged in 5 years, on August 16, 2021.

The grand prize winner gets a $5 gift card to Baskin Robbins.

Ready, set, go!

I guess you could cut down a small sapling first, then use it to make a small axe with the chisel as a blade, then chop down a bigger tree. Then use the chisel and mallet to split off several pieces. Take one piece and chisel it into a crude hand plane that will hold the chisel as the blade. Then you could do most of the building tasks for a small project.

Nope, deadline is final, only 5 years. Sorry.

Very creative bobasaurus, you’ve taken the lead.

Bonus points for making the mallet out of the tree?

I have a 1 inch thick olive tree I’m about to bin, this may be a project I can actually do.

So far I have a 360 degree live edge mini rolling pin, 5 years to spare.

Good job Mike. I will try to catch up. I’m still trying to to decide which chisel to use. Major decision.

Is sharpening allowed?
