Topic tags/keywords: question lathe finishing

I don’t make a lot of pens any more and I went to make some to find out my Shellawax Cream is as hard as a rock. I have used the Shellawax Liquid to mix into my cream when it was starting to harden up but now it is rock hard. These jars are expensive at over $30 each. Any way to bring back my cream finish to being able to be used again. I have two jars, one with a 1/2 in the bottom and the other at about half full. Thanks for your help.

This is only a guess- shellac solvent is alcohol so maybe it evaporated. But if there are chemicals in the wax that harden by reaction, adding alcohol probably wouldn’t do anything.
