Topic tags/keywords: question resource turning lathe

any one know a place or guy who offers wood turning lessons near south bend/Elkhart Indiana? Only guy I can find is near Indianapolis and charges well over $600 for them and sadly I don’t want to pay that much for it lol.

I would contact the closest chapter of American Association of Woodturners. Michigan chapter closets but also one in Fort Wayne.

I did take a class at Woodcraft and it was very much worth the money ($85). Bargain to get quick instruction and hands on instruction. Class was limited to 4 and was comprised of 2, 3 hr sessions after the store closed. It was in Indy location with Bob Anderson.

Call up Johnson’s workbench (if you haven’t already) and see if they offer anything, or if they know of anyone who does. They have a store in South Bend.

Also, there is a Woodcraft in Woodridge IL, about probably 2-3hrs from you (and in central time). They offer classes which are pretty good. Usually an all day Saturday thing, so you could plan to make it a long day trip.
