Hi Guys,

Well I am mostly a power tool guy but at times the hand tools come in real handy. Well I scored a few days ago on CL buy where a nephew was selling his uncle in law’s tools after he passed away. I actually went there because he was selling a Grizzly 1 1/2 HP cyclone dust collector. The price was fair for the dust collector and I think he appreaciated that I did not try to haggle on him on price all I wanted from him was to deliver it for me. Anyways he said feel free to take a look around everything was for sale. So I an digging around and low and behold look what I found.

Lie Nielsen #4 Smoothing Plane
Lie Nielsen Block Plane
Veritas Jointer Plane
Veritas Low Angle Jack Plane
Veritas Router Plane.

I offered him 500 bucks and he took it. I am pretty happy. The old guy really took care of his stuff.

Thanks for looking!

The insane amount of suckage you have generated has actually altered the weather patterns in other parts of the country.

Outstanding score (and price)!

I have a similar assortment of planes, totaling a good bit of money, not counting the hours I’ve spent tuning them up. I fear that when I finally die, all my great hand tools will be sold for practically nothing. I guess I hope they’ll go to somebody like you guys that will appreciate them and use them.

Well I also bought a Powermatic PM2000 two years old in prestine shape so I did buy a lot of stuff off them I spent 2900 hundred for the grizz cyclone, planes and the TS. The wife and nephew said they were happy they were going to a good home to be further used in what the old guy loved to do.

Too many times on CL people will come in see this garage loaded full of great tools and say 1000 bucks for 6000 worth of tools maybe more, only to be resold for profit. No I am very grateful and honored to own his tools. Its just like everything in life we own… we don’t own it we are just borrowing it.
