Topic tags/keywords: question lathe

Hi LJ’s! I’m looking to replace my standard 4 prong lathe spur with a multi tooth center that has a spring loaded center. I see Woodcraft has one from Wood River, and PSI has one that seems to be an in-house brand. Both cost $20, which is perfect on my wallet.

Does anybody have any experience with either of these? Is one better than the other? Any input is much appreciated :)

i have the woodriver one and i use it all the time. it is really nice for doing spindles in really hard wood that would split if you use a standard 4 prong. just be careful not to lose the tip or spring , they will fly out if you forget and release them to fast.
