Pattern routing with dish carving bit

Why make a silk purse from a sows ear??? By the time you get the bushing, if you can, and some type of bearing set up, which may extend the bit too far out of the collet, just buy a straight pattern bit with either an upper or lower bearing, which ever works on your set up.

Here is an Amazon link to a Whiteside 1.25” bearing and stop collar that I got . They have all sizes and they are good bearings. Works well for me.
