Topic tags/keywords: maple

I have a maple tree that has over twenty five burls protruding. I am soon to move out of the house and want to take that tree or sell it right now. At one point, a man from California offered me $50,000 to come excavate it and keep it alive. So, it must be a good tree. I am on a time constraint, but am willing to take offers, I live in Tacoma was by the Emerald Queen Casino My phone number is 3604401832 my name is acee call with offers

Youre looking for $50k and not even a picture posted?

Those who post something for sale within the first few posts (even if it isn’t for $50K) can usually be subjects of the “Craigslist posters have gone nut” thread as more than likely their wares are advertised there as well.

As soon as I pick up that used 600.00 3 year old radial arm saw off craigslist, I’ll be calling.

I hope you are not looking for someone to match that wonderful offer of 50K. You are kicking yourself now, I bet.

You DID get his phone number, right? If someone offered me 50K for my wife and son I would say no but take their phone number.

Sitting back, getting the popcorn out, watching the “Maple Burrows” post for comic relief.

I’d like to buy that tree and any others you have in the yard. Any shrubberies and other landscaping you should take with you as well. I’m sure the new owners won’t mind.

well I am not sure what you mean exactly by that. The house hasn’t even sold yet and that was a stipulation with the friend who gought the house that the tree is coming with me. So, I really don’t know what your getting at are you being a smartie or just have time on your handsl

To have a maple with 25 burls on it, that tree must be what, 50 ft. tall at least? How big a hole does one have to dig to get enough roots to move a tree like that to keep it alive? And how much, actually, can it be worth? Just interested…

So you’ll pay someone to move it so you can replant it at your new home, or you will sell it to someone to come and take it down so they can harvest the wood and burls. Am I getting this right? Essentially you don’t want to leave this tree to whomever buys your house?

Some dumb questions: Do you even own the house or are you a tenant? Why didn’t you take the man’s outrageously crazy $50,000 offer if you do own the house? And do you think we are all morons?

You just joined this forum and this is your only post, so…...

Don’t listen to these jokers. The tree is worth every penny of your asking price. Just keep posting your name and phone number on as many woodworking forums as possible. Also, there’s a section on Craigslist for this type of thing – it’s called “Casual Encounters.” A title like “Big wood, lots of balls” ought to get the right attention.
