Hello I recently bought a Preformax Jet 22/44 drum sander used from CL. It’s is excellent condition and came with a fairly large roll of 180 grit sandpaper. I seem to be having issues with getting the paper tight on the drum and staying tight. I have run it without a load, rewrapped and tried again but it never seems tight enough. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Are you pulling the spring-loaded arm for the clip on the right side (motor end) of the drum?

That arm is what keeps the paper tight
