Always seem to be short of storage space around the shop, so built a cabinet under my table saw, and put a few drawers in my new outfeed table.

It’s seems to be one of those things in life that will always be a constant…. There is never enough room. No matter the amount of room I can make I can fill it just as quick! I’ve been doing a massive reorganization in my shop as of late which is going on roughly 3 months now and I’m having a hard time seeing the end. Every time I pick a section to focus on it branches into many a project to either store hide or work on what I find. All in all I’ve found it quite enjoyable and look forward to what the next day brings.

-- if you have to ask your self if its good enough?.... chances are its not.

Kev, I understand your hurt. I actually am to the point where I have taken over a bit of a different room of my basement for my sandblast cabinet, since my shop is so stuffed I could not put in another tool even if it was given to me. My wood is in another room of my walkout basement. My actual shop is in the attached garage close by.

I also went through a “reorganization” a few months back. The problems with these projects is they always have a reaction for every action. So you just end up shuffling around stuff, making room for the stuff you moved in the first place. End result is not much gained.

Steve, those are some nice looking additions to your shop. I store short off cuts under my out feed table, but I haven’t made the cabinet yet.

Nice addition, storage is a problem we all face, some worse than others. Over the years I have become quite creative in finding new places to cram more stuff / tools/ equipment.

One simple answer to storage shortage is to build your own simple shop cabinets. Many of my cabinets were built 25-30 years ago. My router table is full of drawers: My workbench is full of drawers: My shop built dust collector holds a belt sander. All small machine sit on cabinets. There are no metal machinery stands in the shop. Get rid of all the empty space and there is no more shortage of storage.
