I just did a mock run at woodcarft and order 10 24’’ clamps and they were going accept my order until I canceled it.

Not at any time did it say unavailable.

One of the olderst tricks. big sale with no product. Certainly knocks Woodcraft down a couple notches.

It’s not just woodcraft. I belong to another forum where quite a few members that bought jet clamps on black Friday last year from various other sources didn’t receive them until mid summer this year. If anything I would blame jet for not stepping up production for this so called sale event.

Has anyone tried ordering direct from Jet?

I posted this in the other Jet clamps thread, but I will add it here for those who may not have seen it. Some details added for clarity.

I live in Kalamazoo, Michigan and my “local” Woodcraft store is in Grand Rapids, about 45 miles from here. I was not looking for clamps, but I needed to be in Grand Rapids on Tuesday and I went to the Woodcraft store to buy a router bit. I was aware of the Jet clamp offer but, as I was looking around the store to determine what I never knew I needed but now simply had to own, I noticed that they only had two Jet clamps on display and they were longer than the sale copies. When I was checking out I mentioned to the person waiting on me that they didn’t seem to have any of the Jet sale clamps. He told me that they had “pallets of them” in the back storeroom, but they were not putting them out for sale until the actual sale date. He said they had many customers coming in looking to get the deal early and they were waiting for the official sale date.

As I stated before…. “Good for them!!!!!”. I read here that other stores put their supply out for sale early at the sale price. I would be really pi$$ed if I was the first in line on Friday only to learn that the clamps had been offered at the sale price for days and they were all gone. What a stupid marketing practice! My business would be going elsewhere, probably online, not local.

As I write this I am not certain what I will do tomorrow. I can sleep in and try to forget about the half price clamp deal. Not much chance of that, since I would toss and turn and moan about things with parallel jaws. On the other hand, I could take a drive north (through the forecast rain) and buy six each of the 12” and 24” clamps. Perhaps I could order them online, but there is the satisfaction of holding them in your hands immediatly after purchase. Who knows??? Maybe I really need a lathe and I could come home with that! Stranger things have happened.

Fortunately for me I have a wife who understands how these things really come down for guys. As long as I keep her sisters and friends satisfied with cutting boards and the like I can satisfy my desire for a bit more gear to help out the cause.

Happy Thanksgiving and here’s hoping you get the clamps of your dreams tomorrow.

I hope my order went through. I bought 2 of the 12 inches and 2 of the 40 inchers at 11:00 am today. Said at the time they were in stock. I thought the sale started tomorrow, but I went on Woodcraft’s site and was surprised the sale prices were already up.

I think I saw where you could get the sale prices online and in store, so maybe since today is thanksgiving they started the online sale today. I was gonna get the jet clamps but since the jorgenson are cheaper at Menards, gonna go to my home depot and get them to price match. $30 for 48” ones.

It was pretty lame seeing the sale start today, was expecting it to be tomorrow so thought I’d try and beat the rush to check it out at midnight…. guess they’re all gone!

Last year I bought as many as I could afford at the time, wasn’t enough! Next year I’ll start checking daily in October. ;)

I posted in another thread but I called Fastenal on Wednesday asking if they could get them as they are listed as an online source. Manager asked for part numbers and they did not come up so he said that he was going to call Jet. When he called back he said that they have been sold out of the clamps since April as Rockler, Woodcraft, and Acme had purchased everything that they had…........IDK but makes one wonder why it takes some so long to get them from others?

Rockler already has them on sale. Combine it with the free shipping code and you get yourself a good deal.
