Have you checked out Sunflower Woodworker's Guild? That’d be a great way to meet with some others and talk woodworking. At least a couple of those guys are also LJ members.

Yes i went to sunflower on the inrermet and as far as i could tell it was dead.

Not sure why you got that impression. They are definitely still active, with the next meeting coming up in a couple weeks.

50-70 members attend the Guild meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month.
Some of our members commute 30-45 minutes one way to attend.
You can read copies of our newsletter on the web site.
