Bill you did a real nice job restoring it. Sorry but I can’t buy it. I’ve already got a trio of them. |

Hi Bill, how much shipping, how about a few pics of the knob and tote and some info baout what you gave done to it. Ya 60$ isnt out of line if shipping is low. I have a few but love to collect them. This one looks as if it may be a good user. |

Benchbuilder, the last time I tuned my planes was about 3 years ago just before going to boatbuilding school. All I did was check the sole for flat and square and it did need some attention. I put the chipbreaker and blade on the stones to get a good mating and of course sharpened and squared the cutting edge. Made sure the frog was riding on the pads the way its supposed to and that it adjusted easily. That’s about it, that’s about all most of them needed to work correctly and it does. I mean, its a fine tool. There are no crack, chips or splits in either the knob or tote. The Japanning is original and its about 99% or better. Theres just nothing wrong with it. -- I was born at a very young age, as I grew up, I got older. |
