Why do my pictures down load to this site with wrong orientation? Then there doesn’t seem to be a way to correct them. I will hold up posting additional projects until I hear from someone on how to correct.

My pictures do the same thing
unless I crop them first. Even if
I don’t change anything. Don’t ask
me why, idk. Another jock passed
this on to me when I had the same
problem. Hope this helps.

This is a problem with pics taken by phone or tablet. See this topic:

It is a problem I’ve seen on several Internet forums, not just here at LJ.

the simplest fix is to edit the picture in your device and then resave it. Even if you change virtually nothing, it’s enough to correct the orientation of the picture.

I use a Mac, I open the image in the program called Preview, it usually opens in the correct orientation but it doesn’t always load that way. So now I open it, rotate it counterclockwise, then rotate it back clockwise and save it, then they always load properly. Strange, but it works.

OK. Thanks to all who responded. Those that suggested this is caused by photos taken by Smart Phones/iPad/Tablets, are correct. Thee photos do not have sufficient data about the photo to tell the Lumberjock application what the correct orientation is. So Lumberjock just assumes these kinds of photos are all landscape orientation. So, if you must take your photos with a smart device, take all as landscape (device held horizontally). Or, before up-loading, open each photo and crop and resave, before the upload.

Thanks again for all the great responses.

I fixed your photo of a knife in the wall!
