Topic tags/keywords: laguna baldor lt18 bandsaw motor mount question

I ran into this problem while unwrapping and setting up my bandsaw today, the mounting bolt that was installed in the machine (the black bolt in the photo) is too small to use in my 4.5HP Baldor motor. The motor had two bolts installed in it, one slightly longer than the other to go into the tensioning mechanism. The shorter bolt is too long! I bottom it out in the motor mount, and there is at least 1/4” of threads visible. Am I missing something here?

Also The manual states, “make sure there are washers between the bolts and the inside face of the machine. “The only washers are lockwashers, not the typical flat washers you would expect. Has anybody got one of these Machines and can offer me some advice on putting it together?

Thanks in advance!

Called Laguna, they sent the wrong bolts. At least customer service was fast in a response! I elected to pick up a bolt locally vs wait for them to ship one. A minor hiccup, not something I’m going to ding them for on a review, can’t wait to get this bad boy up and running!

Good to hear you had a good response from them, and it was simple. Congrats on the saw.
