Topic tags/keywords: question walnut finishing light spots

Hey everyone, I finished a walnut table top with Arm-R-Seal, several coats then flattened the finish using 600 grit sandpaper with water and a bit of soap to lubricate. So far so good. Then rubbed it with steel wool (0000). I’m happy with how it looks except there are a few obviously lighter spots. Any ideas on what this is or what I should do? It doesn’t feel like I sanded through and I’m worried about rubbing it further in case it makes it worse. Hopefully you can see it well enough with these pictures. Was planning on waxing after this but not sure I want to do that until I figure out these spots. Any advice?

It doesn’t look that bad.

If you want, you could reapply to those areas.
