For anyone wishing to start making wooden planes, I suggest something like this 2-day workshop at Lee Valley.
I took the workshop run by Steven Der-Garabedian last June, and had a great time. I have to admit the plane still isn’t “finished” – it’s hard to cram everything into 2 days – so it still needs its curves added. But it cuts beautifully.
To be honest there aren’t a lot of tool-making workshops out there, especially in Canada. ANybody have any suggestions of other courses?
