Location: Cincinnati, OH

I've been woodworking since I was 12. Learned a fair amount in my dad's custom woodworking shop. Decided that's not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, so had to wait until I was in my 30's to find a job writing about woodworking. Joined the staff of Popular Woodworking magazine and became the tool review guy, along with writing hundreds of articles and building lots of projects. Did a little TV and moved to our woodworking book division in 2007. Things are good, and I still get to build, but without listening too much to customers.

Thank you all for the welcome. It’s an impressive show of group support! I’ll admit, I haven’t had a chance to delve into all the levels of Lumberjocks, yet. Finishing up a few projects that are on a deadline. Just glad to be the “other” David Thiel, till later, thanks again!
