Just an FYI. At the St Louis Wood Show, there will be saw stop demos at 1:30, 3:30 and 5:30 Saturday and Sunday. Show is a little on the small end, probably economy related. On the other hand, sales staff doesn’t seem to be as pushy this year.

I was at the show on Friday, yesterday 2/10/10, also and FWIW I found it to be as good or better than the last 2 years. Of course I wasn’t buying much this year and spent most of the day at the Hand Tool Rodeo with Roland Johnson which was excellent and at the finishing seminar. I didn’t get to see all of the finishing, there are 4 different presentations, and only saw about 1/2 of the 4th one so think I’ll go back Sunday to see all 4 parts. Cook Woods has a booth this year and I did pickup some wood blanks for turning lathe tool and chisel handles. Cook has a semi trailer load of wood available and they have some beautiful varieties.

I didn’t get there until 3:30 on Friday. Then I spent most of the time hanging around the craft Supplies USA booth because my son wanted to make a pen. It was just last week we made that video. He is hooked. He wouldn’t let me get too far and we had to keep checking the list.

It is still a good show, just seems like there is less out in the foyer/entry way and there is more room to walk this year. I think they spread out the rows due to less vendors. Also the wood clubs used to be out in the foyer areas, but this year, most are inside the main room.

Should be some good deals though!

Have your say...
