I never had much luck getting a good fit for my homemade inserts. I picked up a pack of these insert blanks that fit perfectly. They should last a good long while.


I did however make a couple of inserts for my miter saw that turned out good.

Lee Valley also sells miter saw zero-clearance strips in a package of 5 strip ,you just have to punch the holes out for the screws, I just used one and it works very well.
Just an inexpensive alternative to building your own.

That's pretty cool. I never even looked on line for those.
I made one for the bevel cuts also. My Bosch came with a 2 piece insert. The ones I made are easier to swap out. I actually only need 2 of the screws to hold them in place also. A lot quicker if I change them. I ended up drilling a 1" hole at the end for the sawdust to escape.
